The way we make music has always been changing. From carving flutes out of bone and stretching animal skins over hollow skulls to typing a prompt on a computer keyboard. Most changes happen slowly, like a current you barely notice. But sometimes there’s a leap, and people struggle to keep up. Remember when drum machines hit the market? Drummers feared for their jobs, and the end of real music had already been proclaimed. Instead, new genres emerged, and new music reached people’s hearts, minds, and bodies.

AI in general and in music production is a giant leap, and we don’t know yet where we’ll land. It’s exciting and unsettling at the same time. You can feel the rush when a new model turns your prompt into a whole song. Whoa! But is this creativity? Or just the music version of those "one prompt and it built me Minecraft" videos? A quick hit of dopamine is not a hit. When the rush fades, the real work begins. You can take the results as inspiration and go make the record yourself. Great. Or you get stuck in a loop. Not only because you lack control, but because you had to leave your own workflow to get there. Export, import, export, import, subscription bill. Back to bar one. And in the end, you find yourself sitting on a bunch of folders full of stems and the painful frustration of trying to restore audio that was never yours. 

Here at EINAUX, we believe that the only effort worth putting into music is the search for the right idea. That’s how you get good at what you do. ACENTAUR isn’t a song generator and won’t do this search for you. But it supports you, running locally on your own Mac, right inside your DAW, in the middle of your mix. It builds on what you bring to the table: your audio, your ideas, your decisions. Think of the program as an instrument with a new way of generating sound. No sample library, no oscillators, no envelopes, no keys. A dream synthesizer that responds to your ideas with takes you can listen to, reshape, or discard—sometimes with sounds you would never have come up with on your own. It’s there in that moment every producer knows, when you pause and ask yourself: What do I do next?

It all started while I was building ACENTAUR just for myself. I was missing what modern generative audio can do, right inside my DAW and my session. The further I got, the clearer it became what I was actually building: something that closes the wide gap between AI and a DAW-based production workflow. And I couldn't be the only one feeling that gap. So EINAUX was founded virtually overnight, simply to give this work a home and a way out into the world.

I believe generative audio belongs inside the creative flow: close to the track, understandable at a glance and useful before the idea disappears. And I believe creativity itself has a kind of magic. You have to step aside to let the magic (and the music) happen. Anything that interrupts that has to go, and the technology behind it should feel invisible.

To achieve this, I needed to translate the language of diffusion models into words that click with a musician's brain. Because while turning up the noise is the oxygen of every diffusion model, it's a reason to get fired in the studio. And while quantisation can make your playing more precise, it can take precision away from the model's generations.
